Rain showers extend from Redding to San Francisco, providing relief to central California. Fresno and Bakersfield are also experiencing rain, which extends into the Sierra Nevadas, where it transitions into snow at the higher elevations. Areas like Las Vegas and San Diego enjoy dry conditions under partially cloudy skies, offering a pleasant respite from any precipitation. Phoenix remains in the clear with mild temperatures. Flagstaff is under light snow showers, while Cedar City experiences a mix of rain and snow, indicating a wintry blend in the region.
In Los Angeles, the afternoon temperatures are climbing to 68 degrees by 4 PM with a gentle breeze from the south-southwest at 6 mph. As we move into the early evening, expect temperatures at 66 degrees by 6 PM with winds picking up slightly to 9 mph. The skies remain sunny and pleasant. By 8 PM, temperatures will hover around 68 degrees again with mostly sunny skies and a steady wind at 8 mph from the south-southwest.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures across the Southwest region. In Las Vegas, it’s a pleasant day with a high reaching 70 degrees. Over in Phoenix, you’ll find a warmer afternoon as temps soar to 72 degrees. Starting in northern Arizona into New Mexico, expect rain showers, with precipitation likely tapering off by the afternoon. The higher elevations, such as the Flagstaff area, may see snow mixed in through early morning hours. Gusty winds accompany the system and could lead to rough travel conditions in exposed areas and mountain passes. For southern Arizona into the Sonoran Desert, it’s a mix of sunshine and clouds with mild temperatures in the low 70s.
