Rain showers are currently drifting over the coastal areas of San Diego and inching northward towards Los Angeles, providing a refreshing break from dry conditions. Flagstaff is seeing scattered showers, bringing some moisture to the area. Las Vegas continues to remain dry, while Reno has showers. Cool, cloudy conditions prevail in Salt Lake City.
This evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will gradually decrease, starting at 72 degrees at 9 PM, dropping to 66 degrees by 11 PM, and reaching 63 degrees by 1 AM. Expect partly cloudy conditions throughout the evening. Winds will be from the south-southwest at 7 mph, calming to 5 mph, and shifting to the south-southeast at 4 mph later.
Tonight, Phoenix will remain quite warm at 80 degrees, but Flagstaff will drop to a chilly 47. Las Vegas is forecasted to cool down to 78 degrees. In contrast, San Diego and Los Angeles will both see lows of 60 degrees, while Fresno will settle at 61 degrees.
Tomorrow in Phoenix, expect a scorching high of 107 degrees, staying well above average for this time of year. Las Vegas is also feeling the heat, with highs reaching 105 degrees as warm air dominates the region. In Los Angeles, temperatures will be more moderate, topping out at 78 degrees. Bakersfield is heating up too, with a forecast high of 96 degrees. San Francisco enjoys a cooler day at 63 degrees.
A frontal system moves into the Southwest by tomorrow, bringing scattered showers to Arizona and New Mexico. Northern parts of Arizona may experience brief thunderstorms, particularly in the late afternoon. Temperatures will remain in the lower 60 degree range in Flagstaff, gradually warming to the upper 70s in southern Arizona. Southern California will stay mostly dry, with temperatures reaching into the high 80s. Be mindful of potential windy conditions along the New Mexico-Texas border.
