Rain is sweeping through California’s central valley, impacting areas from Fresno to Bakersfield, bringing much-needed moisture. San Francisco and surrounding coastal areas see continued showers moving inland. Up in the higher elevations around Redding, snow is falling, creating a picturesque yet hazardous setup for those traversing mountain roads. Cedar City in Utah has llight snow in the mountains, contributing to the overall wintry feel across the higher terrains. In the desert areas, from Las Vegas to Phoenix, spring is in the air and conditions remain dry. Farther south, Los Angeles and San Diego are seeing light rain, with a gentle drizzle adding a fresh breath to an otherwise mild day. Flagstaff finds itself amidst chilly air with potential for snow showers, keeping things interesting for those in northern Arizona.
This afternoon in Los Angeles, temperatures hold steady at 61 degrees by 3 PM and 5 PM, gradually easing to 60 degrees by 7 PM. Winds are from the southwest at 7 to 9 miles per hour, adding a gentle breeze to the mostly cloudy skies.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures in the Southwest. In Las Vegas, we’re seeing a warm high of 78 degrees, perfect for outdoor activities. Over in Phoenix, it’s even hotter with a high of 83 degrees under plenty of sunshine. Moving to the coastal areas, San Diego remains mild at 64 degrees, while Los Angeles checks in at a cooler 62 degrees. Over in Las Vegas, expect a low of 53 degrees, while Cedar City will dip down to 30. In the more mild coastal areas, Los Angeles is forecasted to cool to 50 degrees, and farther south, San Diego will reach 54 degrees.
High temperatures for the Southwest region tomorrow show mild conditions. In Las Vegas, expect a high of 77 degrees, making for a lovely day. Phoenix is set to warm up to a scorching 84 degrees, well above average for this time of year. Over in El Paso, temperatures will reach a comfortable 74 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will see temperatures at 71 degrees, while Los Angeles will enjoy a high of 64. Farther north, Fresno is expected to hit 64 degrees, with San Francisco slightly cooler at 58 degrees.
On the Southwest futurecast, anticipate a varied weather experience. In Northern California, expect several rounds of valley rain and potential heavy showers from Monday into Tuesday, leading to challenging driving conditions. For Southern California, particularly the San Bernardino Valley, lighter showers could contribute to slick roadways. Snow is forecasted for higher elevations, potentially impacting mountain passes.
