The radar image reveals clear conditions along the California coast extending through Los Angeles and San Diego, offering a sunny afternoon. Showers and rain are more prominent in the higher elevations near Cedar City.. A snow advisory is in effect until 6pm for the Wasatch mountains in Northern Utah where 15 inches of snow could fall in Cottonwood Canyon outside of Salt Lake City. Ely is catching some light rainfall, adding a touch of moisture to the area. Phoenix and Las Vegas are basking in dry and clear conditions. In northern Nevada towards Reno, conditions remain clear and calm.
Temperatures in Los Angeles this afternoon peak at 68 degrees, maintaining mild conditions. Winds will come from the south-southwest at around 8 to 10 miles per hour. Skies transition from partly cloudy to mostly sunny by 6 PM, with clear skies expected as the sun sets.
In the Southwest today, we’re seeing a mix of temperatures across the region. Phoenix is heating up with a high of 88 degrees, while Las Vegas isn’t far behind at 84 degrees. Bakersfield will reach 82 degrees, and Fresno is expected to see a high of 83 degrees. Coastal temperatures are cooler, with San Diego at 66 degrees and Los Angeles slightly more mild at 69 degrees. Up in Flagstaff, it’s much cooler, with only a high of 60 degrees, showcasing the temperature contrast in the area.
Tonight expect Flagstaff to dip to a brisk 31 degrees, while Ely drops to a frigid 30. Las Vegas will see a low of 64, but that’s still mild compared to the east. In Cedar City, temperatures will fall to 37 degrees, while Los Angeles remains comfortably warmer at 58 degrees. San Francisco will experience a low of 52, making for a refreshing night along the coast.
High temperatures in the Southwest tomorrow heat up. Phoenix is set to reach a scorching 95 degrees, well above the seasonal average. Las Vegas isn’t far behind, with highs expected at 88 degrees. In California, Fresno will hit a balmy 90 degrees, while Los Angeles enjoys a comfortable 76 degrees.
For the Southwest tomorrow, expect an increase in moisture moving into Arizona and New Mexico, bringing scattered showers and potentially heavy thunderstorms by the afternoon. Mountain regions may see a brief spell of snow, particularly in higher elevations in northern Arizona. As the system departs, skies will clear, ushering in drier conditions by late Tuesday.
