On the regional radar for the Southwest, scattered showers are occurring east of Salt Lake City, stretching towards Cedar City, creating a band of precipitation. Ely is seeing some light rain, while Flagstaff and Las Vegas are currently dry. Southern Nevada and Northern Arizona will maintain clear skies for now. Rain mixed with some snow has developed east of Reno, while the coastline from San Francisco to San Diego remains dry and clear. Because there are no severe weather warnings currently, calm conditions are expected to persist across the region except for areas with precipitation.
In Los Angeles tomorrow morning, expect temperatures to be around 61 degrees at both 8 AM and 10 AM with calm wind conditions. The sky will be mostly cloudy, creating a serene start to your day. By noon, temperatures will rise to a mild 64 degrees with the sun peeking out slightly, transitioning to mostly cloudy skies.
Tomorro Phoenix will hit a scorching 102 degrees, while Las Vegas is right behind at 96. Bakersfield is expected to reach 98 degrees, showcasing some above-average heat for this time of year. In contrast, cooler coastal areas like San Francisco will only see highs around 66 degrees, making it a significant temperature disparity across the region Los Angeles will enjoy a mild 73 degrees.
A weather system moving into the Southwest brings scattered showers and thunderstorms from eastern Arizona into New Mexico and southwestern Colorado. Expect pockets of heavy rain, especially over mountainous regions, which may cause localized flooding. Daytime temperatures will remain warm with highs in the low 80s, but cooler air moves in behind the system, bringing a refreshing change. For the next 48 hours, the chance of thunderstorms will peak in the afternoon and evening, potentially disrupting outdoor plans.
The UV index in Los Angeles will be very high at 10 on Thursday, so it’s crucial to be cautious; the burn time in direct sunlight is only about 12 minutes. The same high UV index of 10 continues into Friday with a burn time of 12 minutes again.
