Clear skies dominate the Southwest region with only some cloud cover stretching over Ely. The intermountain west is mainly sunny and dry. And California is basking in sunshine. Bakersfield and Fresno are heating up quickly. Las Vegas and Flagstaff remain dry.
In Los Angeles this afternoon, temperatures will climb to a warm 82 degrees by 6 PM under sunny skies. Winds will be gentle, coming from the south at 9 miles per hour throughout the afternoon. By 8 PM, expect temperatures to dip slightly to 79 degrees. Conditions remain clear, making it a great opportunity for evening outdoor plans.
In the Southwest today, we’re seeing some significant warmth. Phoenix is heating up to a sizzling 111 degrees, while Las Vegas isn’t far behind with a high of 107. Over in Bakersfield, expect a warm day with temperatures reaching 97 degrees. In contrast, San Francisco remains much cooler at just 68.
Tonight, Los Angeles will cool down to 59 degrees, while San Diego is expecting a low of 61. In the Central Valley, expect Fresno to drop to 66, with Bakersfield slightly cooler at 71. Flagstaff and Ely will see brisk temperatures at 50 degrees and 50 degrees respectively, marking a significant change from earlier this week.
Tomorrow in the Southwest, temperatures are set to soar, with Las Vegas expecting a sizzling 112 degrees. Phoenix isn’t far behind, reaching a scorching high of 113 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will see a hot 102 degrees, while Fresno heats up to 101 degrees. Southern cities will experience above-average temperatures, whereas San Francisco remains cooler at 71 degrees.
A cold front is set to push through the southwest region tomorrow, bringing with it a mix of weather conditions. Expect thunderstorms primarily in Arizona and New Mexico, with the potential for isolated severe storms. Rainfall could be heavy at times, contributing to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. In Southern California, lighter showers are anticipated, with clearer skies forecasted for the late afternoon. Temperatures will gradually decrease following the passage of the front, leading to cooler conditions by Wednesday evening.
