A quick glance at the Southwest regional radar shows predominantly clear skies with minimal precipitation. Cedar City and the surrounding areas are experiencing moderate rain showers, which are moving eastward. Ely, to the north, might see some light rain or drizzle as clouds move through, but it’s mostly clear for now. Las Vegas and Phoenix are enjoying dry conditions. San Francisco and the entire California coastline are also clear, offering a pleasant evening without rain.
For this evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will gradually decrease from 68 degrees at 9 PM to 63 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will be coming from the southwest, with speeds easing from 8 mph to 4 mph as the night progresses.
Tonight, Flagstaff will experience a cool low of 46 degrees. Las Vegas is expected to drop to 77, while Los Angeles will be a bit cooler at 60 degrees. San Diego will hold steady at 62 degrees. Bakersfield will see a low of 70, and Fresno will drop to 66. Ely will drop to a chilly 43 degrees, marking one of the cooler spots in the region.
Tomorrow, Phoenix will be sizzling with a high of 102 degrees, significantly above average for this time of year. Las Vegas is also feeling the heat, with a high expected to reach 96 degrees. In California, Bakersfield and Fresno will see highs of 98 and 96 degrees, respectively, keeping temperatures well above seasonal norms. San Diego will enjoy a cooler, yet mild, day with a high of 70 degrees. San Francisco is on the cooler side at just 66 degrees.
In the Southwest tomorrow, anticipate dry, sunny conditions dominating the desert areas, offering great weather for outdoor activities. However, the coastal areas of Southern California, particularly the San Bernardino Valley, will experience scattered showers, leading to slick road conditions. While the central and desert regions remain warm and dry, these coastal showers may persist through the day. In the mountains, any brief rain could challenge drivers with slick conditions over the passes, so plan accordingly.
