A powerful weather system is stirring over the Southwest, with rain showers moving ashore along the California coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Fresno and Bakersfield are experiencing heavier bands of rain as it pushes inland. Elevations in the Sierra Nevada could see snow showers, particularly around Reno and Ely. For areas such as Flagstaff, colder temperatures may bring some light snow, adding a wintry touch. Las Vegas and Phoenix enjoy clear skies, offering a respite from the wet conditions around them.
For this evening in Los Angeles, temperatures will ease from 66 degrees at 9 PM to 59 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will be light, ranging from southwest at 7 mph early, shifting to southwest at 4 mph by late evening, and further calming to southwest at 2 mph.
Tonight in the Southwest, expect chilly conditions as temperatures dip significantly. Ely will be the coldest at a frigid 28 degrees. Flagstaff isn’t far behind, expecting a low of 34 degrees. Las Vegas will see a mild 61 degrees, while Phoenix is projected to be warmer at 63 degrees. In southern California, Los Angeles and San Diego are cooling to around 54 degrees, highlighting a noticeable drop from previous nights.
Phoenix will lead the pack tomorrow with a sizzling high of 91 degrees. Las Vegas is expected to hit 86 degrees, and Bakersfield will reach 88 degrees, contributing to a trend of higher temperatures across the region. Meanwhile, Los Angeles will see a comfortable high of 70 degrees, while San Diego remains mild at 70 degrees as well. San Francisco will be cooler at 68 degrees, but overall, the region is enjoying a warm April day.
Expect clear skies and warm temperatures across the desert Southwest tomorrow. Coastal areas, including parts of southern California, will experience showers, with heavier rain likely in some areas. Watch for slick roads and possible localized flooding late in the day. Temperatures in the region will remain mild despite the rain, providing a gentle contrast to the dry interior landscapes. Stay alert for any severe weather alerts, especially in areas prone to heavier rainfall.
