A mix of weather is sweeping across the Southwest on the regional radar. For the Central Valley, Fresno and Bakersfield enjoy calm weather, free from rain or snow. The southern stretches, including Los Angeles and San Diego, are enjoying clear skies. However, in northern California, around Redding, rain is advancing from the Pacific Ocean, offering much-needed moisture to the region. This system is also pushing showers into the Sierra Nevada, with some snow expected at the higher elevations. Looking toward Nevada, Reno is experiencing some rain showers that may extend eastward. Farther south, the weather is mild in Las Vegas, with no significant precipitation at this time. Cedar City has cloudy skies but remains dry.
In Los Angeles this evening, temperatures start at 65 degrees at 8 PM, gently decreasing to 61 degrees by 10 PM. Winds from the south-southwest at 6 mph shift to a light southerly breeze at 3 mph. As midnight approaches, temperatures will settle around 59 degrees under partly cloudy skies, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere perfect for any late-night plans.
Now for the low temperatures in the Southwest. San Diego will remain comfortable at 53 degrees. Las Vegas will see a low of 57, while Cedar City cools down to 37. Flagstaff is looking at a low of 34, making it a cooler night there as well. Over in Phoenix, residents can expect a mild night with a low of 61 degrees.
High temperatures for tomorrow in the Southwest are looking Spring-like. The coastal areas are experiencing more mild conditions. San Diego will have a pleasant high of 70 degrees, while Los Angeles is set for 72 degrees. Farther inland, Fresno will warm up to 74 degrees, and Bakersfield will see a high of 75 degrees. In Las Vegas, we’re anticipating a high of 83 degrees, which is above the seasonal average. Phoenix is set to warm up to a scorching 87 degrees, well above normal for this time of year. Overall, the warm weather will be driven by high pressure building over the region, pushing temperatures higher across much of the Southwest.
Expect a changing weather pattern across the Southwest on Sunday. Southern California, particularly the San Diego area, will experience a mix of clouds and sun with occasional light rain showers, leading to wet roads and potential delays. Towards the late evening Sunday, a weak cold front approaches Northern California, bringing scattered rain showers. Keep an eye on the conditions, especially in elevated areas where gusty winds may enhance the chill.
The UV index in Los Angeles will be high over the weekend, with a value of 7 both Saturday and Sunday. Expect a burn time of about 20 minutes in direct sunlight. It’s a good idea to wear sunscreen and cover up when out and about!
