Rain is moving into the central California Valleys, providing much-needed precipitation. Higher elevations around Reno are seeing snow, while light rain is affecting areas near San Francisco. Flagstaff is experiencing cloudy conditions, with the potential for light snow showers.
In Los Angeles this afternoon, temperatures are holding steady at 91 degrees under sunny skies. Expect a light breeze from the south-southwest at 6 to 8 mph. By 8 PM, look for partly cloudy skies, but the temperature remains at a warm 91 degrees. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
In the Southwest today, we’re seeing some toasty temperatures across the region. Phoenix and Bakersfield are leading the charge with highs reaching 103 degrees. Las Vegas will also feel the heat, hitting 99 degrees, while Los Angeles enjoys a slightly cooler day at 94 degrees. Meanwhile, San Diego will see a pleasant high of 87. To the north, San Francisco stays mild, only reaching 70 degrees. In Flagstaff, temperatures remain comfortable at 75 degrees, providing a nice contrast to the surrounding heat.
Tonight, Las Vegas will see a low of 56 degrees, while Flagstaff is expected to get down to a chilly 45 degrees. In the Phoenix area, temperatures remain milder at 77 degrees. Bakersfield will cool to 57 degrees, and San Francisco is looking at a low of 53 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southwest region are soaring above average for tomorrow. Phoenix is set to hit a blistering 104 degrees, while Las Vegas will closely follow at 99 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will warm up to 94 degrees, and Fresno expects a high of 90 degrees. San Diego will enjoy milder temperatures at 81 degrees, still comfortably warm.
For the Southwest tomorrow, expect a sunny and dry start, particularly in the desert regions Northern California will experience multiple rounds of valley rain, impacting travel on mountain roads. As the system moves southward, the San Bernardino Valley will face heavy rain showers. This will result in slick and potentially hazardous driving conditions.
In Los Angeles, the UV index is expected to reach a very high level of 10 on Saturday, with a burn time of just 12 minutes, making sun protection essential. By Sunday, the UV index slightly decreases to 9, translating to a burn time of 15 minutes.
