Across Reno, and extending towards Ely, expect showers. While Las Vegas is mostly dry, Salt Lake City and Flagstaff have a few clouds. San Francisco is enjoying relatively clear, albeit cool, conditions amidst the passing system.
For this afternoon in Los Angeles, temperatures remain steady around 73 degrees with mostly sunny skies at 4 PM and a slight breeze from the south at 8 miles per hour. By 6 PM, it continues to be 73 degrees with clear skies and a breeze from the south-southwest at 8 miles per hour. At 8 PM, the temperature dips slightly to 71 degrees with clear conditions, keeping the light breeze consistent. It’s a generally pleasant afternoon with sunny skies and calm winds in the metropolitan area.
Today Phoenix is sizzling at a high of 104 degrees, while Las Vegas isn’t far behind with a scorching 99. In contrast, the coastal city of San Diego is enjoying a much cooler high of 72 degrees. Up in Flagstaff, daytime temperatures will reach 77 degrees, indicating a pleasant spring day in the mountains. Bakersfield sees a warm 88 degrees and Fresno checks in at 85.
Tonight Las Vegas will dip to a cool 48 degrees, while Flagstaff is even colder at 37. Bakersfield will see a low of 59, and Los Angeles will rest around 57 degrees. San Diego will have a mild evening at 57 degrees, but watch out for those cooler coastal breezes.
Tomorrow, Phoenix is set to reach a scorching 98 degrees, while Las Vegas is expected to soar to 93 degrees. In California, Bakersfield will hit 87 degrees and Fresno will follow closely with a high of 86 degrees. Coastal areas will be more moderate, with San Diego reaching 67 degrees and Los Angeles hitting 71 degrees. Redding, farther north, will see the warmest temperature of 95 degrees.
A high-pressure system will maintain sunny and dry conditions across most of Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California, with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to low 90s. Northern California and western Nevada could experience a series of light rain showers, particularly in the afternoon, tapering off by the evening. The Sierra Nevada mountains face increased cloud cover with a chance of higher elevation snow in the overnight hours. Winds will be light to moderate across the region, with the potential for gustier conditions near coastal areas and over higher terrains.
Los Angeles is facing a high UV index of 10 today and tomorrow, bringing quick burn times of just 12 minutes in direct sunlight.
