A band of rain showers stretches from central Georgia to the coastal Carolinas, with heavier activity moving just east of Charlotte. Atlanta is currently experiencing some light rain, while drier conditions persist toward Birmingham. Scattered showers are also visible from Houston heading eastward to New Orleans. Severe weather is not a concern, but the continuous rain in these regions might cause localized flooding. Coastal areas like Savannah and Jacksonville are seeing light rain as well, making it a soggy morning along the southeastern coast.
For this evening in Miami, temperatures start at 85 degrees at 9 PM, easing down slightly to 82 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will shift from 9 mph out of the south to 6 mph from the west. The sky will transition from partly cloudy to mostly clear.
Tonight, Memphis is expected to drop to 57 degrees, while Nashville will be a cooler 53. Atlanta will see a low of 60 degrees, and Montgomery is forecasted at 65. Further south, New Orleans will remain mild with a low of 73, and the warmest spot, Miami, will hold at 79.
Tomorrow, Atlanta will reach 84 degrees, slightly above average for this time of year. Jacksonville and Tampa will both hit 92 degrees, a good indication of the summertime warmth in the region. Shreveport is forecasted to match that at 92 degrees as well. New Orleans will see a high of 83 degrees, while Jackson tops out at 89 degrees.
A tranquil weather pattern transitions to an active one across the Southeast. Thunderstorms are expected from Houston to New Orleans tomorrow morning, as a cold front advances eastward. These storms may bring heavy rainfall and strong winds, especially over Montgomery and moving towards Atlanta by late afternoon. Watch for potential severe weather during this period. Following the front, temperatures will cool slightly, providing a brief relief from the humid conditions.
The UV index in Miami peaks at an extreme level of 11 for both today and tomorrow, with potential sunburn occurring in just 11 minutes under direct sunlight.
Wednesday: Expect partly cloudy skies with a high of 89 degrees and a low of 78.
