Scattered thunderstorms are flaring up south of Baton Rouge, and could impact the coastal areas later. The radar shows rain bands reaching into parts of southern Mississippi, with potential for more widespread showers there. Along the eastern Gulf Coast, including Tampa and Jacksonville, skies remain mostly clear with dry conditions expected today.
Evening in Miami brings mostly cloudy skies with temperatures starting at 84 degrees at 9 PM. A light southeast wind will blow at around 6 mph. Expect a chance of showers, with temperatures dipping to 80 degrees by 11 PM. By 1 AM, clouds will linger as temperatures rise slightly to 82 degrees, with winds transitioning to a south-southeast direction at 6 mph.
Tonight in the Southeast, expect a significant drop in temperatures. Atlanta will settle at 52 degrees, making for a brisk night. Jacksonville and Tampa should brace for late afternoon showers, with cooler, drier conditions setting in by evening. High temperatures will drop by about 5-8 degrees following the frontal passage, particularly across Georgia and Alabama, with clearer skies moving into the weekend.
