This week we’ll witness a spectrum of weather conditions, from beautiful sunny skies ideal for outdoor activities to an approaching storm system that’s set to shake things up. Starting the week, enjoy mild temperatures perfect for beach days or city walks, but don’t stash away your umbrella yet! Midweek, expect significant temperature drops and thunderstorms rolling in from the Southeast. Across the Southeast, the regional radar is showing relatively clear skies, with some activity concentrated in specific spots. First, Jacksonville and Miami are seeing clear skies, creating perfect weather for outdoor activities on this pleasant day. The most significant precipitation is occurring around the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains, with light rain showers moving eastward across the Carolinas. In Charlotte, be prepared for showers as they head toward the coast. Meanwhile, areas like Montgomery and Atlanta are experiencing a break in the rain, enjoying calm and clear conditions for the time being.
This afternoon in Miami, expect partly sunny skies with temperatures starting at 75 degrees at 3 PM, gradually cooling to 71 degrees by 7 PM. Winds from the east-southeast remain steady at 8 miles per hour, fostering a breezy atmosphere.
Today, we’re seeing some warmth across the area. In Florida, both Jacksonville and Miami hit mid 70s for the top tempeerature.
Meanwhile, it’s more mild in Montgomery at 77 degrees and Atlanta experiencing a high of 72 degrees. Notably, Nashville lags behind with a cooler high of just 66 degrees, showcasing a significant temperature contrast for today.
Shreveport leads the pack with a high of 82 degrees, while Houston is close behind at 81 degrees. In Jackson, temperatures rise to 79 degrees, providing a pleasant afternoon. Moving to the southern part of the region, New Orleans reaches a comfortable 76 degrees.
The Southeast is bracing for a notable drop in temperatures. Memphis dips to a chilly 45 degrees, while Nashville will find a low of 35. Shreveport is expected to linger around 55 degrees. In Jackson, look for a cooler 60 degrees, with Montgomery also applying the brakes at 60. Atlanta will settle at 55 degrees tonight. It’s a brisk evening for Savannah at 56, and Jacksonville will cool down to 57. Tampa stays a bit warmer at 60 degrees, while Miami remains the warmest spot with a mild 71.
For tomorrow, temperatures in the Southeast are projected to be above average.
In Atlanta, expect a high of 78 degrees, while Charlotte will reach a pleasant 74. Memphis is on track for a high of 72 degrees, and further south, New Orleans will warm up to 79 degrees. Over in Montgomery, temperatures could hit 82, and Jackson is looking at about 80 degrees. Shreveport stands out with a notable 84 degrees, marking one of the warmer spots across the Southeast.
A cold front is moving into the Southeast tomorrow night, bringing a significant weather shift. Expect thunderstorms developing from New Orleans to Jacksonville late in the day, with strong winds and heavy rainfall possible. There’s a low chance of severe storms, so be prepared for potential weather warnings. Temperatures will drop slightly behind the front.
