Today’s weather starts on a mild note with partly cloudy skies, leading up to a lively weather pattern marked by thunderstorms, strong winds, and a mix of temperatures across the region. The week promises to keep us on our toes with fluctuations from highs around 80°F to stormy conditions. Stay tuned as we navigate through these dynamic weather shifts. The Southeast is currently witnessing a busy weather day with storms lined up along a broad swath from the Texas Gulf Coast through the Deep South. Strong storms are active from New Orleans to Montgomery, with the heaviest rainfall sweeping across Jackson. Showers extend past this storm line into Atlanta, whereas Memphis, farther to the north, is remaining out of this storm’s immediate impact for now. The coastal areas stretching from Savannah down to Jacksonville are currently under dry conditions. As you move south near Florida, skies around Tampa are enjoying a break.
In Miami, temperatures this afternoon will start at 79 degrees, gradually cooling to 76 degrees by early evening. The wind will be coming from the south-southeast at speeds of 10 miles per hour, easing slightly as the day progresses. Expect mostly cloudy skies to create a warm ambiance, with a mix of sun and clouds.
Let’s take a look at the afternoon high temperatures across the Southeast today. Shreveport is seeing a pleasant high of 79 degrees. Houston is slightly warmer, reaching 83. In Jackson, the temperature climbs to 74. As we move east, New Orleans isn’t far behind with a high of 75. Montgomery will have a high of 71, while Jacksonvile enjoys a warm 77 degrees. In Florida, Tampa is basking under sunny skies with a high of 81, while Miami isn’t lagging much, hitting 80 degrees. Overall, we’re experiencing a mix of mild temperatures, with some cities feeling a bit warmer than others, especially in Texas.
Now for the low temperatures, the Southeast will cool down tonight. Memphis will see a low of 43 degrees, while Nashville cools to 40. Expect a low of 50 in Shreveport and 56 in Jackson. Montgomery is forecast to dip to 52 degrees. Atlanta is looking at a chilly 46, and down south, Tampa will start out at a warmer 62. Miami remains mild at 69 degrees.
For tomorrow’s high temperatures across the Southeast, the region is set to experience notably warm conditions, with several cities hitting above-average readings. Shreveport will lead the pack with a high of 89 degrees. Houston, expect a warm afternoon reaching 87 degrees. Jackson is forecasted to see highs of 84 degrees, along with Montgomery, at 82 degrees. New Orleans will also enjoy pleasant weather with a high around 81 degrees. As we move east, Atlanta will reach 79 degrees, while Savannah is expected to hit 76 degrees. Jacksonville should see a high of 79 degrees, and Tampa is also looking at warm conditions at 81 degrees.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Southeast tomorrow as a cold front moves through the region. From Houston to Tallahassee, look for showers and storms, with a risk of heavy rainfall and strong winds. The front will push into Atlanta by late Tuesday night, bringing cooler temperatures and clearing skies. Stay alert for any weather warnings, especially in areas highlighted by the Storm Prediction Center for severe weather potential. Rain showers will gradually taper off farther east, leaving drier conditions in its wake.
