The Southeast is currently experiencing an active weather pattern with a prominent line of storms stretching from southeast Louisiana through central Mississippi, heading toward Alabama and Georgia. Heavy rain and strong thunderstorms are affecting areas like Mobile and Montgomery, moving farther northeast towards Atlanta. In Mississippi, Jackson is witnessing significant rainfall, which is gradually shifting east.
Areas like Memphis to the north are experiencing mild cloud cover with periodic light rain showers as remnants drift. Coastal cities such as Savannah and Jacksonville are enjoying dry conditions, with skies clearing nicely. Southward, Miami and Tampa remain under fair skies with no anticipated rain for today.
For this evening in Miami, temperatures will gently decrease from 79 degrees at 9 PM to 77 degrees by 11 PM and remain steady into the early morning. Expect mostly clear skies progressing to partly cloudy as the night advances. Winds from the southeast will be mild, around 9 miles per hour, keeping the atmosphere pleasant and stable.
Tonight in the Southeast, we’re looking at a chilly night ahead. Memphis drops to a brisk 34 degrees, while Nashville sees a low of 41. Shreveport will be slightly warmer at 43 degrees. Further south, Jackson will also register 41 degrees. Atlanta cools down to 43 as well. Moving towards the coastal areas, Savannah will experience a low of 52, with Jacksonville not far behind at 55 degrees. In contrast, Tampa enjoys a relatively mild night at 64, while Miami stays warm at 75. A notable drop is expected in Memphis, with temperatures dipping below freezing. Stay warm, Southeast!
High temperatures for tomorrow across the Southeast are expected to be quite warm, with several areas experiencing above-average readings.
Atlanta will see a high reaching 70 degrees, while Charlotte can expect a warm 70 as well. In New Orleans, temperatures will climb to 61 degrees. Meanwhile, Jackson, Mississippi, is forecasted to hit 57 degrees, which is on the cooler side for the region.
Moving to Florida, Miami will be pleasantly warm with a high of 84 degrees. Tampa is set for an even warmer day, reaching 88 degrees, while Jacksonville could soar to 90 degrees, marking one of the hottest spots in the region.
Savannah, Georgia, also enjoys a warm day with temperatures hitting 82 degrees.
Expect an active weather pattern across the Southeast tomorrow. A cold front moves in from the west, bringing a line of strong thunderstorms through Louisiana and Mississippi in the early morning hours. Heavy rain and gusty winds are main concerns, with the potential for isolated severe storms particularly in Alabama and Georgia by midday. Florida and the Carolinas should brace for showers and thunderstorms by the afternoon, with cooler, drier air following in the system’s wake.
