Highlights include Miami’s clear skies, storm warnings for areas like Memphis and potential gusts and showers disrupting travel across Mississippi and Georgia.
A line of storms is currently sweeping through the Memphis area, progressing eastward and diminishing as they move. Atlanta and Montgomery are seeing scattered showers advancing from the southwest. Jackson has moved past its rain, offering a brief respite before more showers arrive later in the day. Skies over New Orleans and Houston are notably clearer. Along the Georgia coast, including Savannah, conditions remain calm and dry.
For this evening in Miami, the weather will remain clear with temperatures holding steady, starting at 81 degrees at 9 PM and gently easing down to 79 degrees by 1 AM. Expect a light easterly breeze at 6 to 8 miles per hour throughout the night. It’s a pleasant and calm evening with mostly clear skies as we transition into the early morning hours.
Tonight, Memphis will see a low of 64 degrees, while Nashville cools down slightly to 68. Atlanta is expected to drop to 68 as well, along with Montgomery at 71. In contrast, Jackson will remain a bit warmer, resting at 71 degrees. Further south, New Orleans has a comfortable low of 75, while Miami will stay warm at 77 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southeast tomorrow include Jacksonville going for a blistering high of 97 degrees, while Savannah reaches 93 degrees. Atlanta and Montgomery will both hit 88 degrees, showcasing a very warm day. New Orleans and Houston also see near 90 with highs of 89 and 93 degrees, respectively.
A line of storms pushes into Shreveport tonight, bringing a risk of heavy rain and strong winds. Into Friday, this system advances towards Jackson by the morning commute, increasing the chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout Mississippi. Expect gusty conditions and potential localized flooding in areas with the heaviest downpours. Scattered storms spread toward Montgomery and Birmingham as the day progresses, with the threat of brief, strong storms possibly impacting late afternoon travel. By evening, this frontal system approaches the Atlanta area, moderating temperatures and clearing skies for the weekend.
