A quick look at the Southeast regional radar reveals scattered showers over northern Georgia, making their way towards Atlanta. The rain extends into South Carolina, edging towards Charlotte, and is starting to intensify. Florida’s eastern coast near Jacksonville is experiencing some isolated showers as well. Areas such as Savannah and the lower regions of Alabama, including Montgomery, remain clear under a gentle sky, providing some respite. Farther west, areas around Houston and Shreveport are currently dry, holding onto the calm for now.
Expect a bright and sunny start to your day in Miami tomorrow morning. Temperatures will start at 74 degrees at 8 AM, warming up to 80 degrees by 10 AM. Winds will be gentle, shifting from northwest at 5 miles per hour to east-northeast at 6 miles per hour by noon. .
High temperatures for tomorrow across the Southeast are expected to be well above average, with much of the region experiencing a warm spell. Atlanta will see a high of 87 degrees, while Montgomery reaches 92 degrees. Jacksonville is anticipating a sweltering high of 95 degrees. New Orleans and Houston both sit comfortably at 89 and 93 degrees respectively. The warm air mass is dominating, bringing summer-like conditions to the area.
For the second half of the week, a cold front is advancing across the Southeast, bringing with it a line of thunderstorms from New Orleans to Montgomery. Early Wednesday morning, expect this front to reach Atlanta, producing showers and storms during the morning commute. Jacksonville to Savannah will see storm activity intensify by Wednesday, with possible heavy downpours. The risk for severe weather includes damaging winds and brief, heavy rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding. Temperatures in the region will drop slightly post-frontal passage, with cooler, drier air moving in by Thursday.
