These storms bring heavy rain and potentially damaging winds. Scattered rain showers are popping up around New Orleans, indicating more wet weather for the immediate coast. Moving into Georgia, Atlanta is facing increasing clouds ahead of incoming rain showers from the west. Coastal cities such as Savannah and Jacksonville are currently enjoying clear skies, allowing a break from precipitation. In Miami this afternoon, temperatures will hover around 86 degrees with an east-southeast wind at 11 mph. Clouds will increase slightly, transitioning to mostly cloudy skies by 6 PM, as temperatures ease to 85 degrees with winds continuing at 9 mph from the east-southeast. Into the early evening, expect temperatures to gradually decrease to 82 degrees by 8 PM, with an east wind at 8 mph while maintaining mostly cloudy conditions. Today in New Orleans, expect a high of 89 degrees, while Jackson follows closely at 89 as well. Montgomery will be warm with a high of 91 degrees, and Atlanta is slightly cooler at 80. Over in Florida, Tampa is sizzling with a high of 94 degrees, whereas Jacksonville registers at 91. Savannah will reach 85 degrees, providing a little relief from the heat. Tonight Nashville will see a low of 60, while Atlanta remains a bit warmer at 66. Montgomery registers a comfortable 70 degrees, and in Jackson, the low will be around 69. Over in New Orleans, temperatures will only dip to 77 degrees, making for a warm night across the region. Tomorrow Memphis will see a high of 75 degrees, while Nashville is warmer at 72 degrees. Jackson and New Orleans are both expected to reach 89 degrees, consistent with earlier trends for May. In contrast, coastal cities like Jacksonville and Tampa will enjoy temperatures climbing to 91 degrees. Tomorrow expect a mix of weather conditions as a warm front pushes through. From New Orleans to Montgomery, scattered thunderstorms may bring heavy downpours and gusty winds, especially by mid-morning. Rainfall could exceed an inch in some areas, raising concerns for localized flooding. As the front progresses, showers will extend from Atlanta to Savannah by late afternoon. Temperatures will dip slightly, with clear skies anticipated by the weekend.
