Memphis is seeing active weather with storms moving through, while light rain extends towards Jackson. Coastal regions from Savannah to north of Miami are mostly dry, although Jacksonville is experiencing rain. Clouds are thickening over Montgomery and Atlanta, setting the stage for more rain. Charlotte and the Carolinas are receiving significant precipitation as a weather front progresses from the west.
Afternoon temperatures in Miami will reach 84 degrees by 4 PM, with a gentle south wind at 9 mph. As we move into the evening, temperatures will slightly drop to 83 degrees by 6 PM under partly cloudy skies. By 8 PM, expect clear skies with a temperature of 81 degrees as winds shift slightly to the south-southwest at 8 mph.
Today in the Southeast, temperatures are reaching impressive heights. In New Orleans, the high will be a warm 86 degrees, while Jackson is looking at a comfortable 84. Farther east in Atlanta, temperatures are cooler, hitting 76 degrees. Savannah will experience slightly milder conditions with a high of 82. Over in Jacksonville and Tampa, expect both cities to see highs around 84 degrees. In contrast, Shreveport will reach 91 degrees, keeping it one of the warmest spots in the region today.
Tonight in the Southeast, temperatures will be mild, with little variation across the region. Expect a low of 66 degrees in Atlanta and 67 in Montgomery. Jacksonville will dip to 68, while Savannah is forecasted at 69. Memphis will cool down to 70 degrees, but Shreveport remains warmer at 73. New Orleans will not fall far behind, with a low of 74 degrees.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures in the Southeast are trending significantly above average due to high pressure lingering over the region. In Jackson, Mississippi, expect a high of 88 degrees, while New Orleans reaches 87. Atlanta will experience a warm day with highs around 83 degrees. Farther south, Jacksonville is set to hit a hot 90 degrees, and Tampa will see a pleasant 88 degrees. Houston is warming up as well, reaching a high of 94 degrees, marking a notably warm stretch for the area.
A line of storms is set to develop over Southeast with the cold front sweeping through the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Expect scattered thunderstorms from Atlanta to Charlotte, with potential for heavy rain, gusty winds, and localized flooding. The storms shift towards the Carolinas by Wednesday afternoon, easing up over parts of Georgia and Alabama. Temperatures will dip slightly post-storms, providing a refreshing change with cooler air heading into Thursday. Remain vigilant for severe weather alerts as the front approaches.
On Tuesday, anticipate a UV index of 9, with clear skies allowing for a burn time of 15 minutes—ensure you’re using plenty of sunscreen and seeking shade when possible. By Wednesday, the index rises to an extreme level of 11, reducing the burn time to just 11 minutes—take extra precautions and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
