A line of storms is pushing through the Gulf Coast, bringing severe weather from New Orleans heading towards Montgomery. Atlanta is currently under heavy rain, moving northeastward with storms reaching up into Charlotte. Houston and Tampa are enjoying clear skies at the moment, providing a sunny break from the gray. Meanwhile, Jackson is seeing patchy rain as the activity slides eastward. The tail end of the storm system continues to linger in the Gulf, creeping eastward towards Jacksonville.
Tomorrow morning in Miami, expect a warm start with temperatures at 78 degrees at 8 AM, rising to 83 degrees by noon. The skies will be mostly cloudy, transitioning to scattered thunderstorms by midday. Winds will be coming from the south-southeast at 7 to 11 miles per hour.
Tomorrow, the Southeast will experience above-average temperatures as a warm front pushes through the region. Atlanta is expected to see a high of 71 degrees, while Montgomery will reach 77. Jacksonville and Savannah will have warm afternoons, both hitting 83 degrees. New Orleans will also enjoy a pleasant 80 degrees, with Houston not far behind at 82. Miami is on track for a warm 84 degrees, making it a great day to be outdoors!
A cold front is on the move across the Southeast, bringing a band of showers and thunderstorms from New Orleans to Atlanta through Montgomery by tomorrow morning. While severe storms are possible, the main concerns are heavy rain and strong winds. Expect over an inch of rain across these areas, with potential for localized flooding due to rapid rainfall. Temperatures will drop behind the front, leading to cooler and dryer conditions as we head into the weekend. In Florida, a humid air mass lingers, keeping showers and thunderstorms active from Jacksonville down to Miami.
The UV index in Miami for Saturday will be extremely high at 11. With potential sun exposure risks, it’s essential to limit outdoor activities, as burning can occur in as little as 11 minutes. Sunday sees a slight reduction, but the UV index remains high at 9, with a burn time of around 15 minutes. Make sure to cover up, apply broad-spectrum sunscreen, and seek shade whenever possible, as clouds or storms are unlikely to provide significant relief.
