The Southeast weather picture reveals a dynamic day ahead. As observed on the radar, rain is pushing through Western Tennessee, impacting Memphis and moving toward the northeast. Meanwhile, showers are tapering off in Jackson, allowing for a reprieve. Over in Georgia, rain is marching eastward towards Atlanta, bringing umbrellas back into style for the afternoon commute. Scattered showers are peppering the skies above Montgomery and into the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, coastal cities like Savannah and Charleston are temporarily draped under cloud cover, awaiting the advancing line of showers. Moving to northern Florida, Jacksonville is experiencing scattered rain, while the skies are clearer toward Miami, giving the area a pocket of dry weather.
Tomorrow morning in Miami, temperatures are expected to start at 73 degrees at 7 a.m. with partly cloudy skies. By 9 a.m., temperatures will rise to 76 degrees as clouds become more predominant. Heading toward 11 a.m., expect a temperature of about 77 degrees with partly cloudy conditions and an east wind around 20 miles per hour.
High temperatures for tomorrow in the Southeast are shaping up to be notably warm. In Atlanta, expect a high of 80 degrees, while further south in Montgomery, it will be even warmer at 83 degrees. Over in Jackson, temperatures will reach 77 degrees, and New Orleans is forecasted for a high of 78 degrees. Moving into Florida, Tampa will be the warmest city with a high of 85 degrees, and Miami will reach 78 degrees. Coastal areas will benefit from warm air bringing above-average temperatures across the region, which could result in some humidity and a slight chance of afternoon showers in isolated areas.
“A cold front is pushing across the Southeast, bringing a line of strong thunderstorms from Houston to New Orleans by late tonight. Expect heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted areas for potential severe weather. By Thursday morning, scattered thunderstorms will spread eastward toward Montgomery and Atlanta, impacting the morning commute. Rainfall totals could exceed an inch locally, raising some flooding concerns. In the wake of the front, expect cooler temperatures moving into the weekend with clearing skies. Stay weather-aware and prepared for potential alerts.”
The UV index in Miami reaches an extreme level of 10 today, leading to a burn time of just 12 minutes in direct sunlight. For tomorrow, the index remains at 10 with the same quick burn time of 12 minutes.
