Severe weather is on the horizon across the Southeast, including thunderstorms and potential heavy rains. Look forward to detailed forecasts for each city and safety tips on how to stay prepared for weather changes. Enjoy the clear spells when they come, and stay tuned for the latest updates.
Across the Southeast region on the radar, we’re seeing quite an active weather pattern. Severe thunderstorms are currently making their way across northern Louisiana with Shreveport under the gun for strong storms, moving toward Jackson, Mississippi, with heavy showers likely to persist. As this system progresses northeast, cities like Memphis should prepare for potential thunderstorm activity. In contrast, Atlanta finds itself on the edge of this weather system with increasing cloud cover and the likelihood of rain showers soon. To the east, Savannah and Charleston are presently experiencing clear, calm conditions, enjoying a nice break from the precipitation. Farther south, Jacksonville is shaking off some persistent showers, making way for clearer skies in northern parts of Florida. Meanwhile, New Orleans has scattered rain showers, with further activity evident off the Gulf coast, potentially bringing more rain to Houston and surrounding areas. The Tampa region is also experiencing scattered precipitation, but Miami remains largely unaffected for the moment.
“Tomorrow morning in Miami will start off cloudy with temperatures at 75 degrees at 7 AM. By 9 AM, expect mostly cloudy skies and temperatures rising to 78 degrees with a southeast wind at 14 miles per hour. At 11 AM, scattered thunderstorms are possible as temperatures reach 79 degrees, and the wind shifts slightly to an east-southeast direction at 14 miles per hour.”
For tomorrow, the Southeast is set to experience warmer-than-average temperatures across the region. In Atlanta, expect a high of 72 degrees. Montgomery will reach 79, while the highs in Nashville and Memphis will climb to 77 and 81 degrees, respectively. As we move southward, Jackson is forecasted to see a high of 84 degrees, indicating a warm day ahead. New Orleans is also expected to reach 82 degrees, with Shreveport not far behind at 83. Looking towards Florida, Tampa and Jacksonville will experience highs of 84 and 78 degrees.
Affecting Southeast regions, a cold front is set to move across the area starting tomorrow. Anticipate strong thunderstorms, particularly from New Orleans to Montgomery, with potential heavy rains and gusty winds that might lead to localized flooding. By the afternoon, these storms are expected to stretch from Jacksonville to Savannah. Temperatures will drop slightly behind the front, offering a bit of relief from the current warmth. Stay alert for any severe weather advisories over the next 48 hours.
The UV index in Miami on Saturday is moderate at 5, with a burn time of approximately 27 minutes in direct sunlight. On Sunday, expect a high UV index of 7, which could lead to a burn time of just 20 minutes.
