However, there’s a spot of isolated rain just off the coast of the Florida panhandle near Panama City. The rest of the Gulf Coast, including New Orleans and Mobile, is experiencing clear skies. Savannah and Jacksonville are enjoying sunshine with no precipitation in sight. However, keep an eye on the Gulf as weather patterns can change quickly. Farther north, Charlotte and Memphis are also seeing clear skies, while Atlanta remains dry with mild weather.
Miami temperatures this afternoon rise to 82 degrees under sunny skies. The wind will be from the southeast at 9 miles per hour. By 5 PM, temperatures drop slightly to 81 degrees with partly cloudy conditions and an east-southeast breeze at 10 miles per hour. As we move towards the evening, expect mostly clear skies with temperatures at 79 degrees. The winds remain gentle at 8 miles per hour from the east-southeast.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures. In Shreveport, we’re seeing a pleasant high of 82 degrees. Houston is a bit warmer at 81 degrees, while Jackson heats things up with a high of 80 degrees. Alabama’s capital, Montgomery, also enjoys a mild day with a high of 81 degrees. As we move eastward, temperatures climb even higher with Jacksonville reaching 86 degrees and Tampa sizzling at 87 degrees. Miami is warmer as well, hitting 83 degrees, but clouds and humidity keep it slightly cooler today. In contrast, the temperatures drop significantly further north, with Nashville only managing a high of 67 degrees.
Tonight, the Southeast region is seeing some chilly lows as a cold air mass settles in. Expect a brisk 33 degrees in Memphis, while Nashville will be slightly warmer at 35. Shreveport is looking at a low of 37, and Jackson will dip to around 41. Atlanta will start the morning at 35 degrees. It’s a more mild evening for Tampa, with a low of 56, and Miami remains warm at 63, though it’s about 10 degrees cooler than recent nights.
Tomorrow, the Southeast region is in for a warm day with temperatures significantly above average for this time of year. Atlanta will see a high of 83 degrees, while Nashville will climb to 85. Memphis is expected to reach 85 as well. In Jackson, temperatures will soar to 86 degrees. Over in Montgomery, anticipations are for a hot 90-degree high. Meanwhile, the coast will enjoy warm conditions too, with New Orleans hitting 84 degrees, and Jacksonville seeing a high of 87. Over in Tampa, we expect a sizzling 92 degrees. Overall, a strong ridge of high pressure is driving these above-average temperatures across the region, creating a summer-like feel in early April.
Tomorrow, the Southeast can anticipate a shift in the weather with an incoming cold front impacting from Alabama to the coastal Carolinas. This will bring a heightened chance of scattered severe thunderstorms during the late morning into the afternoon, especially across eastern Georgia and into South Carolina. Some areas may experience damaging winds and heavy rainfall, which could result in localized flooding concerns. Temperatures ahead of the front will remain warm, in the upper 70s to low 80s, before dropping by about ten degrees following the frontal passage. Keep an eye on weather developments and stay prepared for any severe weather alerts through the next 24 to 48 hours.
The UV index in Miami will be very high at a level of 10 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect a burn time of approximately 12 minutes in direct sunlight.
