This cluster of storms is slowly making its way eastward. Light showers are scattered across northern Mississippi and Alabama, with some isolated activity reaching up into the vicinity near Memphis. Areas from Atlanta to Charlotte are largely clear for the moment, but clouds are expected to increase as the day progresses, leading to potential rain showers later on.
Afternoon temperatures in Miami will hover around 85 degrees with a steady southeast wind at 10 miles per hour. Expect cloudy conditions initially, transitioning to scattered thunderstorms by 6 PM, with temperatures dipping slightly to 84 degrees and winds easing to 8 miles per hour. By 8 PM, temperatures will farther ease to 82 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a southeast wind of 6 miles per hour.
Looking at today’s high temperatures across the Southeast, Shreveport is sizzling at 95 degrees, while Houston settles at a warm 92. New Orleans sees a high of 91, and Jackson reaches 90 degrees. Atlanta is slightly cooler at 86, contrasted by 89 degrees in both Montgomery and Jacksonville. To the east, Savannah comes in at 87, with Tampa a bit cooler at 88, while Miami remains comfortable at 86 degrees.
Tonight’s lows in the Southeast will see some variations. Memphis is set for a cooler night at 67 degrees, while Nashville dips to 71. Expect a refreshing 69 in Jackson and 70 in Montgomery. Coastal cities will remain milder, with lows of 75 in Savannah and Jacksonville, and a warm 80 in Miami.
Tomorrow in the Southeast, Shreveport will reach 95 degrees, while Houston warms up to 94. Memphis and Jackson are both expected to hit 92 degrees, with Montgomery close behind at 91. Atlanta will also see a high of 90, while Savannah and Jacksonville will be around 88 and 89, respectively.
A cold front is progressing through the Southeast, bringing scattered thunderstorms from New Orleans to Montgomery by tomorrow morning. Expect heavy rain and strong winds as the front advances toward Atlanta, with potential localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Jacksonville to Savannah will see showers intensify by the afternoon, with a notable increase in storm activity through Wednesday. The risk of isolated severe storms, including strong gusts, exists along the front. Warm temperatures will persist initially but are expected to drop as the front clears, leading to cooler, more stable conditions into Wednesday evening.
