With a mix of temperatures and conditions, we’ll look at targeted safety tips especially under the high UV index. Over the Southeast, a robust line of severe storms is sweeping across parts of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, producing heavy rain and intense thunder in Montgomery and Jacksonville respectively. Jackson and surrounding areas in Mississippi are experiencing persistent rains, fueling a broader rain shield extending into western Georgia and near Atlanta. This rain is making its way toward Savannah, while Charlotte remains dry with some cloud cover. Shreveport and New Orleans are clear of precipitation, providing a reprieve from the current storm activity. Miami and Tampa stay dry under partly cloudy skies, with calm conditions prevailing.
Afternoon temperatures in Miami are holding steady in the low 80s, reaching 83 degrees by 4 PM. Expect mostly cloudy skies transitioning fully by 6 PM, with wind coming from the southeast at a gentle 13 miles per hour, relaxing slightly by evening.
Memphis will see a high around 68 degrees, while Jackson remains cooler at 65. New Orleans is a bit warmer with a high of 77 degrees. Over in Florida, Tampa is enjoying a warm day at 86 degrees, with Miami closely following at 85. Jacksonville will have a pleasant high of 83 degrees, and Savannah rounds out the region with 75 degrees. With varying temperatures across the region, it’s a day to enjoy the warmth, especially in the Sunshine State!
Tonight Memphis will see a low of 61 degrees, while Shreveport and Houston are also settling at 61. Jackson is cooling down to 60 degrees, and Montgomery is expected to drop to 65. Atlanta will start the day at a mild 63 degrees, while farther south, Tampa and Miami maintain mild overnight conditions at 73 and 79 degrees respectively.
High temperatures across the Southeast tomorrow, New Orleans will reach 78 degrees, while Jackson hits 75. Atlanta is slightly cooler with a high of 67 degrees, making it below average for this time of year. In Florida, Miami and Tampa will see highs of 85 and 86 degrees, respectively, putting them well above average.
A cold front moves across the Southeast tomorrow, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms from Shreveport to Jacksonville. Expect periods of heavy rain along the Gulf Coast, particularly around New Orleans and Savannah, with the potential for localized flooding.
