The regional radar for the Southeast shows a line of storms extending from Memphis southeastward toward Jackson. This line is indicative of strong thunderstorms moving eastward. Rain showers are impacting Atlanta and Charlotte, leading to wet conditions in those areas. Savannah and Jacksonville are witnessing increasing cloud cover but remain dry at the moment. Miami, along with most of Florida, continues to enjoy clear skies.
The afternoon in Miami is set to be warm with temperatures peaking at 88 degrees and gradually cooling to 83 degrees by 8 PM. Expect sunny skies and a steady southeast wind blowing around 12 miles per hour, slightly easing to 10 miles per hour by evening. It’s a bright and breezy afternoon, perfect for outdoor activities.
In the Southeast today, we’re seeing some warm temperatures across the board. Jacksonville is topping out at a sizzling 95 degrees, while Savannah isn’t far behind at 93. New Orleans and Houston are both hitting 90 this afternoon, providing plenty of sunshine. Meanwhile, Atlanta and Montgomery will see highs around 89, making for a warm but pleasant day. A slight contrast can be felt in Nashville, where the high reaches a cooler 80 degrees.
Expect a chilly night in Memphis with a low of 59 degrees, while Nashville will fall to 61. Jackson is forecasted to drop to 61 as well, with Atlanta also hitting 61 degrees. Savannah will see lows around 65, while Jacksonville will remain a bit warmer at 68. Tampa is looking at a mild night with a low of 76, and Miami will stay warm at 78 degrees.
Tomorrow, Atlanta will reach 88 degrees. Montgomery is expected to hit 88 as well. Jacksonville stands out with a scorching high of 95 degrees, and Savannah not far behind at 92 degrees. Farther west, New Orleans marks a warm day at 86 degrees, with Memphis slightly cooler at 84 degrees. Expect Houston to cap off at 91 degrees, maintaining the overall warm pattern across the region.
A cold front is set to move through the Southeast on Tuesday evening, bringing a line of thunderstorms from Jackson to Montgomery. Expect heavy rain and the potential for strong winds. By early Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms spread eastward to Atlanta and Charlotte. There’s a risk of thunderstorms in Jacksonville and Savannah during the day on Wednesday. Prepare for sudden weather changes and potential localized flooding as more than an inch of rain is possible over the next 48 hours.
