This week, Miami enjoys temperatures in the low 80s with chances of partly cloudy skies interspersed with clear days. Meanwhile, the Southeast braces for a mixed bag of weather—from sunny highs in Tampa to anticipated storms and heavy rains from Houston to New Orleans. Stay ahead of the weather game with daily updates and protective advice for very high UV levels. A line of severe storms is advancing from Houston toward Shreveport, indicating active weather conditions in southeastern Texas. Jackson is witnessing scattered rain showers, which are gradually moving northeast. In the Carolinas, Charlotte is experiencing some light rain, while conditions remain clear in Atlanta and Montgomery. Coastal cities like Savannah and Jacksonville are currently dry, with only some patchy clouds around Tampa. New Orleans is gearing up for potential rain as the system from the west approaches.
Afternoon temperatures in Miami start at 81 degrees with an east wind at 12 miles per hour, providing a mostly sunny atmosphere. By 5 PM, it cools slightly to 79 degrees with winds coming from the east-northeast at 13 miles per hour as clouds begin to increase. The evening settles at 77 degrees, maintaining partly cloudy skies with winds at 12 miles per hour.
Afternoon high temperatures are warming up nicely across the Southeast today. In Atlanta, we’re looking at a high of 77 degrees, while Nashville climbs to 82. Over in Jackson, temperatures reach 80, and New Orleans isn’t far behind at 81. Down in Florida, Tampa is expecting a warm 89 degrees, with Miami trailing close at 81. Interestingly, Jacksonville tops out at 86, making it one of the warmer spots in the region.
The Southeast is settling into a mild evening with temperatures dipping into the mid-60s. Expect a low of 66 degrees in both Jacksonville and Tampa. Montgomery will cool a bit more to 63 degrees, while Atlanta rests at 62. Shreveport is slightly warmer with a low of 69 degrees. In New Orleans, the temperature will be a comfortable 71 degrees.
Tomorrow in the Southeast, temperatures will be quite warm, with several locations exceeding seasonal averages. Atlanta is set to reach 75 degrees, while Jacksonville will see a high of 84 degrees. Montgomery will hit 84 degrees as well, and in New Orleans, expect a comfortable 82. Farther south, Tampa could even soar to a sizzling 92 degrees.
A cold front will advance into the Southeast, bringing an active weather pattern by tomorrow. Expect scattered thunderstorms across areas from Houston to New Orleans, moving eastward. Metro areas like Atlanta and Charlotte should prepare for heavy downpours and gusty winds through the day. Potential for severe weather, including localized flooding, especially in southern Mississippi and Alabama.
Miami’s UV index will soar to a very high level of 11 on Wednesday and Thursday, with potential sun exposure risks. Expect a burn time of just 11 minutes under direct sunlight, so robust sun protection will be crucial.
