Strong storms are sweeping through the Carolina coastline, with Charlotte seeing some intense activity. Jacksonville and Tampa are experiencing steady rain with downpours pushing northward. Over in Montgomery and Atlanta, expect scattered thunderstorms as showers roll east. New Orleans and Houston are catching a break with mostly clear conditions at the moment.
Afternoon temperatures in Miami reach 84 degrees at 4 PM, gradually cooling to 83 degrees by 6 PM and 81 degrees by 8 PM. Winds are from the southeast, ranging from 11 to 14 miles per hour.
Today in the Southeast, we’re seeing some warm highs across the region. New Orleans will reach 76 degrees, while Jackson gets slightly warmer at 75. Farther east in Jacksonville, temperatures will soar to 79, heating up to 85 in Miami. Tampa isn’t far behind, with a high of 84 degrees, thanks to plenty of sunshine. Memphis checks in at a cooler 74 degrees, while Montgomery sits at 72. It’s a day of contrasts, especially with the notable warmth in Florida compared to the slightly chillier air further north.
