The Southeast is experiencing a range of weather conditions today. Over the northern parts, particularly around Memphis and Jackson, there is significant rainfall extending into the region, moving northeastward. This heavy rain should also be impacting areas further into the Tennessee River Valley. Meanwhile, cities like Shreveport and Houston are seeing scattered showers, with some rain developing toward the western Louisiana border. The radar shows dry conditions across Savannah and Charleston. In contrast, clouds are building over southern Georgia, increasing towards the Carolinas, suggesting that rain might be on its way. In Florida, places like Tampa and Miami are enjoying clear skies, ideal for outdoor activities, although Jacksonville is on the cusp of changing weather as showers begin to approach.
In Miami tomorrow morning, temperatures will start at 73 degrees at 7 AM, rising to 78 degrees by 9 AM, and reaching 80 degrees by 11 AM. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a southern wind at 7 to 10 miles per hour throughout the morning. It’s a warm start to the day, so perfect for enjoying that early morning walk or jog by the bay!
High temperatures for tomorrow in the Southeast are shaping up to be quite warm and above average for this time of year. In Houston, expect a high of 84 degrees, while Shreveport will reach 81 degrees. Moving to Mississippi, Jackson is forecasted to hit 75 degrees, and in New Orleans, temperatures will climb to 74 degrees. Across Alabama, Montgomery is looking at a pleasant 72 degrees, and in Georgia, Atlanta will experience a high of 68 degrees. Further east, Jacksonville is set for a warm 79 degrees, and Tampa will be slightly warmer at 81 degrees. Finally, Miami anticipates a high of 82 degrees.
“Keep a close eye on the Southeast as a cold front progresses eastward through Shreveport into Jackson and beyond. We’re looking at the potential for strong thunderstorms, particularly from Jackson through Atlanta and up to Charlotte. With the SPC highlighting these areas, localized severe storms, including gusty winds and heavy rainfall, could materialize. As this front continues eastward, heavy rain may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas. By Thursday, the system moves past, bringing clearing skies but keeping temperatures consistent for the end of the week.”
The UV index in Miami will be very high today with a value of 8, meaning sunburn can occur in about 17 minutes without protection. For tomorrow, expect an extreme UV index of 10, with a burn time of just 12 minutes. Remember to apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and seek shade during peak hours to protect your skin from harmful exposure!
