The Southeast is seeing an active weather pattern today. On the Regional Radar, a line of storms is pushing eastward from Shreveport towards Memphis. These severe storms are bringing gusty winds and heavy rain to areas in between. Much of the region across Jackson and farther north to Memphis is experiencing lingering showers, which are moving northeast and could eventually reach Atlanta. Over in Georgia and the Carolinas, the weather is starting to transition with increasing clouds. Rain is expected to move in, indicating a change from the mild conditions seen earlier. Eastern parts of Louisiana, near New Orleans, are seeing scattered showers. Meanwhile, coastal areas such as Savannah and Charleston are currently enjoying clear skies, providing a respite from the rain. Texas and western Louisiana are also having some scattered rain showers stretching towards Houston. However, much of the rain has yet to reach New Orleans farther southeast. Jacksonville is still seeing some showers, but as these move out, Northern Florida is expected to clear up.
Tomorrow morning in Miami begins with mild conditions and a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures rise from 78 degrees at 7 AM to 82 degrees by 11 AM. Expect an east-southeast wind at 15 to 18 miles per hour, maintaining a gentle breeze throughout the morning.
High temperatures tomorrow across the Southeast region are expected to be well above average, signaling a return to summer-like conditions. In Mississippi, Jackson is forecasted to reach a scorching 88 degrees. Louisiana’s New Orleans will also be warm at 85 degrees, while nearby Shreveport should see a high of 80. Farther east, Montgomery, Alabama, is poised for a high of 89 degrees, which is notably warm for early April. Atlanta, Georgia, will experience a high near 86 degrees, and moving to the coast, Savannah will hit around 81. In Florida, Jacksonville can expect a high of 88 degrees, while Tampa will be even hotter, reaching a high of 93 degrees.
A cold front is sweeping through the Southeast tomorrow, bringing active weather to the region. Expect a line of storms stretching from Memphis to Shreveport by early morning. These storms are likely to intensify as they move eastward into Alabama and Georgia, with Montgomery and Atlanta potentially seeing heavy downpours and gusty winds during the morning commute. New Orleans and Jackson should also be prepared for showers and thunderstorms. By the afternoon, watch for the storms to reach Savannah, Jacksonville, and further south into the Florida peninsula. There’s a risk for severe weather, including localized flooding, so stay alert and weather-aware. Temperatures will dip behind the front, offering more mild conditions as skies clear late Thursday.
