Expect sunny moments interspersed with scattered showers as we cover the full weather spectrum from Miami to Savannah, including a focus on storm systems and temperature trends. A storm system is currently developing off the coast near Savannah, Georgia, with scattered showers reaching inland, bringing some rain to Savannah and the surrounding areas. The radar shows light rain showers near Jackson, Mississippi, moving eastward, potentially reaching Montgomery, Alabama, later in the day. Across the rest of the Southeast region, including cities like Atlanta and Charlotte, conditions appear to be mainly dry with some cloud cover. The Florida coast near Miami and Tampa is experiencing isolated rain showers, but overall, clear skies prevail in those areas.
In Miami this afternoon, temperatures will start warm at 89 degrees by 4 PM, accompanied by partly cloudy skies and a southeast wind at 10 miles per hour. By 6 PM, expect a slight dip to 88 degrees with continued partly cloudy conditions. As the evening approaches at 8 PM, skies will clear up to sunny conditions with a temperature of 86 degrees, and a south-southeast breeze at 7 miles per hour.
Today’s regional high temperatures in the Southeast are sizzling. In Shreveport, expect a hot high of 100 degrees, while Houston isn’t far behind at 98. Moving east, Jackson will see a high of 94 degrees, with Montgomery reaching 97. Florida’s coastal areas are feeling the heat as well; Jacksonville tops out at 98, while Tampa is slightly cooler at 94. Notably, Miami’s onshore flow brings a more comfortable high of 89 degrees, providing some relief from the heat.
Tonight, Memphis will hit a low of 76 degrees, while Nashville cools down to 74. In Jackson, expect a low of 75, and Montgomery will also see temperatures drop to 75. Tampa will remain mild at 79 degrees, while Miami stays warm at 80.
Tomorrow in Atlanta, expect a high of 91 degrees, indicative of warm conditions across the Southeast. Jacksonville is forecasted to reach 97 degrees, while Savannah will also see a high of 95, both reflecting slightly above-average temperatures for this time of year. Memphis will hit 98 degrees, with Shreveport not far behind at 99. New Orleans will experience a more moderate 90 degrees.
Showers and thunderstorms will linger from Houston to New Orleans overnight, as a cold front advances east. By tomorrow, expect stormy weather to continue into Jackson and Montgomery, with potential for heavy rain and gusty winds. The cold front’s march will affect cities like Atlanta, with isolated storms reaching into Charlotte and Tampa by late day.
