A broad area of rain stretches from West Texas all the way to the Panhandle, bringing much-needed moisture. Over in New Orleans and extending towards Jackson, rain showers continue, priming the ground for some wetter conditions ahead. As we look towards the Florida Panhandle, a line of thunderstorms is developing offshore, with rain threatening areas around Jacksonville and Miami. Coastal regions like Savannah and Charlotte remain mostly dry with cloud cover sneaking in. This system is set to move eastward, promising more widespread showers for the Carolinas as the day progresses.
In Miami this afternoon, temperatures will hold steady in the low 80s with a southeast wind around 9 miles per hour, perfect for a breezy afternoon. As we move into the evening, temperatures slightly decrease, reaching 81 degrees by 6 PM under mostly cloudy skies. By 8 PM, expect partly cloudy conditions and temperatures around 79 degrees with an east-southeast wind at 5 miles per hour.
This afternoon, we’re seeing some warm conditions across the Southeast. In Jackson, the high reaches 79 degrees, while New Orleans is slightly warmer at 80 degrees. Over in Atlanta, expect a more moderate high of 71 degrees, contrasting with the tropical feel in Jacksonville, which hits 88 degrees today. Down in Florida, both Tampa and Miami are enjoying warm weather, each reaching a high of 88 and 83 degrees, respectively. Montgomery and Savannah are in the mid-80s, with highs at 79 and 83 degrees. Nashville is a cooler outlier today, only reaching 61 degrees.
Tonight in the Southeast, expect low temperatures to drop significantly. Memphis will see a chilly low of 56 degrees, while Nashville will be even colder, dipping to 53. Atlanta will not escape the cool trend, with a low around 58 degrees. Montgomery will register a low of 61, and further south, both Jacksonville and Tampa will hold steady at 71 and 72 degrees, respectively. A note for Miami: it will remain the warmest in the region with a low of 76 degrees.
Tomorrow, we can expect high temperatures to soar across the Southeast, with Jacksonville leading the pack at a steamy 90 degrees. Atlanta will see a warm day with highs reaching 79 degrees, while Montgomery will climb up to 82. New Orleans is set for a pleasant 79 degrees, and moving east, Tampa could hit a sizzling 92.
In the Southeast tomorrow, watch for a developing rain pattern as a slow-moving system brings showers and thunderstorms from Shreveport to Atlanta. Heavy rain is likely, with localized flooding possible, especially in low-lying areas. A cold front is expected to pass through, triggering severe thunderstorms in parts of Mississippi and Alabama during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain warm ahead of the front but will cool down as it moves eastward. Stay alert for possible severe weather advisories, particularly in areas from Jacksonville to Charlotte, as storm activity intensifies.
