Afternoon temperatures in Chicago will reach up to 67 degrees with a northeast wind at 10 miles per hour. Expect predominantly cloudy conditions as the day progresses, maintaining the cloud cover through the evening. By 6 PM, the temperature will slightly cool to 64 degrees with continued northeast winds. Heading towards 8 PM, temperatures settle at 60 degrees with winds easing to 7 miles per hour from the east-northeast.

A cold front sweeps through the Midwest, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, especially into the Ohio Valley. Heavy rain may lead to localized flooding from Chicago to Indianapolis with potential wind gusts in storms. Temperatures hold steady in the low 70s but will drop by midweek in the upper Midwest. Keep an eye on storm development around Louisville and Columbus as severe weather is possible. By Wednesday, a brief lull in precipitation allows cool, dry air to settle in, but scattered showers may linger near Cleveland.
The UV index in Chicago will be moderate today, reaching a level of 4 with a potential burn time of about 35 minutes under direct sunlight. On Tuesday, it will dip slightly to a UV index of 3. Remember to use sun protection as needed, especially during midday when UV exposure peaks.
