A band of rain stretches from Bowling Green through to Columbus, with intense activity around Charleston. Cleveland and Detroit are seeing cooler and clear conditions, while cloud cover hovers over Chicago. Some light rain is present west of Springfield and is trailing towards Peoria. Fort Wayne may experience drizzles as clouds roll in. St. Louis and Kansas City are enjoying dry, calm weather.
For the evening in Chicago, temperatures will gradually decrease from 52 degrees at 9 PM to 49 degrees by 1 AM. Expect partly cloudy skies early on, transitioning to mostly cloudy overnight. Winds will be from the north-northeast at 7 miles per hour, decreasing to 4 miles per hour by late evening. Keep a jacket handy as it will get cooler into the night.
Tonight, the Midwest will experience some cool temperatures as cold air settles in. Chicago is forecasted to drop to 49 degrees, while Peoria will see a low of 54. Indianapolis is expected to rest at 54 degrees, and Fort Wayne will dip to 48 degrees. Kansas City will remain relatively mild at 57 degrees. Expect lows of 51 in both Detroit and Columbus, marking a notable chill across the region.
For tomorrow, the Midwest is expecting above-average high temperatures as warm air continues to stream into the region. Des Moines will reach a pleasant 77 degrees, while Kansas City also warms to 76. Chicago is set for a high of 68 degrees, and Indianapolis will see a more moderate 71 degrees. Notably, Fort Wayne lags slightly behind at 59 degrees, marking a cooler spot in the area.
A cold front moving through the Midwest will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, primarily impacting areas from Chicago to Cleveland on Tuesday. Expect moderate to heavy rainfall with a risk of localized flooding, especially across parts of Indiana and Ohio. Temperatures will shift noticeably cooler following the front, dropping by about 5 to 10 degrees. Winds will pick up, reaching gusts up to 25 mph. Heading into Wednesday, the front continues eastward, clearing up skies behind it, but keep an umbrella handy through the early morning hours in the Ohio Valley.
The UV index in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday is forecast to be high at 7, with potential sun exposure risks. If you’re out and about, the burn time is approximately 20 minutes, so it’s important to apply sunscreen and wear sun-protective clothing.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with temperatures peaking at 72 degrees and a low of 50. Sunday: Enjoy a clear day with the high reaching 69 degrees and an overnight low of 54.
