A band of rain is sweeping across the southeastern portion of the Midwest, affecting cities like Charleston and Bowling Green with light showers, although the intensity is not severe. Rain is expected to continue moving northeast, potentially impacting Cleveland later in the day. Chicago and surrounding areas are enjoying clear conditions, allowing for a beautiful midday. Meanwhile, snow and wintry weather are predominantly seen farther north, with heavier snow expected across the Upper Peninsula near Saginaw. Indianapolis and Columbus are nestled under dry skies.
For this evening in Chicago, temperatures will ease from 44 degrees at 8 PM down to 39 degrees by midnight. Expect mostly clear skies transitioning to partly cloudy conditions as the night progresses. Winds will be from the west-northwest starting around 9 miles per hour, easing to about 5 miles per hour by midnight.
For tonight’s low temperatures in the Midwest, we’re seeing some colder air move in. Chicago will dip to 31 degrees, while Peoria can expect a low of 33. Over in Indianapolis, temperatures will drop to a chilly 30 degrees, with Fort Wayne following suit at 26 degrees. Columbus will also be on the colder side at 29. St. Louis will see a low of 38 degrees, and Kansas City at 40. Meanwhile, Springfield will remain slightly warmer with a low of 43 degrees. Expect a brisk night across the region with significant temperature drops in several areas.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures across the Midwest reflect a trend toward more mild conditions, with many areas experiencing above-average readings.
Kansas City will see a warm high of 70 degrees, while St. Louis can expect 67 degrees. Springfield tops out at a pleasant 72 degrees. Further east, Indianapolis registers at 51 degrees, and Peoria reaches 55. Chicago remains cooler at 48 degrees, a bit below seasonal norms.
In Ohio, Columbus will hit 50 degrees, while Cleveland is slightly lower at 44. Notably, Louisville will warm up to 60 degrees, while Charleston checks in at 52.
