Across the Midwest on this March day, clear conditions are dominating the majority of the region. However, let’s take a closer look at some specific areas. In places like Chicago, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis, skies are significantly cloudier, with a few light showers approaching Chicago from the west. Moving north and east, areas like Detroit and Cleveland are experiencing snow flurries, which are creeping in from the Great Lakes region. Farther south, locations like St. Louis and Springfield enjoy sunny and calm conditions, while Peoria remains mostly dry with only scattered clouds around.
For this evening in Chicago, temperatures will be in the low 40s, starting at 41 degrees at 8 PM and settling to 40 degrees by midnight. The wind will be shifting, moving from east at 5 miles per hour to a gentle south breeze by midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies transitioning to a cloudier pattern as the night progresses.
Tonight in the Midwest, we’re looking at chilly conditions across the region. Minneapolis will experience a low of 36 degrees, while Chicago drops to 45. Expect a cooler night in Fort Wayne, with temperatures falling to 44 and Indianapolis forecasted to reach 50 degrees. St. Louis will also have a mild evening, settling at 58 degrees. Moving east, Indianapolis is expected to hit 58 degrees and Columbus will be just slightly warmer at 62. In the northern parts, Chicago remains cooler with a forecasted high of 55 degrees.

Keep an eye on the temperature trend shifting more mild by Thursday as a warm front approaches from the west.”
