A band of rain is sweeping across the Midwest, with Des Moines experiencing persistent showers moving towards Chicago. Peoria is getting some of this rain too, along with clusters of embedded thunderstorms. In Kansas City and Springfield, expect lighter rain showers as the system rotates. Meanwhile, skies are mostly clear for Cleveland and Columbus, offering a brief respite from the previous week’s rain. Fort Wayne and Indianapolis might see clouds increasing, but precipitation is yet to reach.
In Chicago this evening, temperatures will gradually rise from 56 degrees at 9 PM to 60 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will blow from the east-southeast at 16 to 18 miles per hour, contributing to a breezy night. Cloud cover will persist through the evening, transitioning to rain by 1 AM. It’s a good idea to have an umbrella handy if you’re heading out late.
Tonight Chicago will see a low of 43 degrees, while Indianapolis is forecasted at 45 degrees. Further south, Louisville will cool down to 50 degrees, with Peoria hitting 45. Kansas City will remain milder at 57, but those in Fort Wayne should prepare for a cooler 43 degrees.
St. Louis will reach 72 degrees, while Kansas City and Springfield are both expected to hit 75 degrees. Louisville follows closely with a high of 73 degrees. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne will see more moderate temperatures at 64 degrees. Charleston, West Virginia anticipates the warmest afternoon high in the region at 81 degrees, influenced by a warm front moving through the area.
A cold front is pushing into the Midwest, with a significant line of thunderstorms expected from Kansas City to St. Louis by late Sunday evening. As the front advances, prepare for heavy rainfall and potential severe storms that may include strong winds and hail. Des Moines and Peoria should be alert for intense weather early Monday morning, with possible updates from the N-W-S. Saturday: Partly cloudy conditions, a cooler day with a high of 53 degrees and a low of 45.
