A wet morning for the Midwest as a large swath of rain moves across the region. Indianapolis, Louisville, and Bowling Green are currently experiencing steady showers, making for a soggy start to the day. The line of precipitation stretches westward towards St. Louis, where rain continues to fall heavily. Farther east, Cleveland is starting to see increasing cloud cover ahead of the rain bands. Chicago stays dry under partly cloudy skies, while Springfield faces some mixed precipitation.
For this evening in Chicago, we’re seeing a mostly cloudy sky with temperatures hovering around 60 degrees at 9 PM. By 11 PM, a slight increase to 61 degrees with calm east winds at 5 mph. As the night progresses to 1 AM, temperatures settle back to 60 degrees with a potential for a few light showers, and winds shifting slightly to east-southeast at 5 mph.
Tonight in the Midwest, Indianapolis will cool down to 62. St. Louis is also expected to have a low of 62, with a chilly drop to 61 in Columbus. Expect Kansas City and Peoria at 64 degrees, providing slightly milder conditions.
Tomorrow, the Midwest will see above-average high temperatures, providing a warm stretch for the region. Kansas City tops the charts with an expected high of 86 degrees, while St. Louis is not far behind at 77 degrees. In Indiana, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne will reach 76 degrees. Peoria anticipates a high of 81 degrees.
The Midwest is in for a wet start to the week with bands of rain sweeping across the region. Expect persistent showers from Chicago to Columbus, bringing potential for localized flooding due to heavy, sustained rainfall. Winds will pick up as a cold front approaches, particularly around Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, increasing the risk of gusty conditions. Temperatures will take a dive post-front, marking a crisp, cooler turnaround towards midweek. Keep an eye on shifting weather patterns that could trigger brief, intense thunderstorms in localized areas.
