Starting with Chicago, we’re seeing cooler temperatures and cloudy skies with gradual warming throughout the day. However, a major rain system is brewing, ready to douse the Midwest from Kansas City to Chicago with significant rainfall by the weekend. This area of precipitation extends towards Peoria, bringing steady showers to the region. St. Louis can expect an increase in rainfall as the storm system moves northeast. Farther north, cities like Chicago and Detroit are enjoying clear skies for now. Light rain showers are touching the southeastern edge of the region, approaching Bowling Green and extending towards Columbus. Chicago begins the morning with temperatures at 51 degrees with cloudy skies and a northeast wind around 4 miles per hour. By 10 AM, temperatures rise slightly to 53 degrees with continued cloudiness and a gentle northeast breeze at 5 miles per hour. Expect a temperature of 57 degrees by noon as clouds give way to a mostly cloudy sky, with winds picking up to 7 miles per hour from the northeast.
