This week, we’re witnessing a mix of climates, from rain showers in Northern California to snow in Sierra Nevada and mild conditions in Las Vegas. Overall, the Southwest is a tale of two weather systems: rain for the lower elevations and snow in the higher terrains. Northern California is experiencing a cluster of rain showers, particularly around Redding. As the system moves inward, Fresno and Bakersfield are seeing intermittent rainfall, providing some much-needed precipitation for the area. Meanwhile, the Sierra Nevada mountains are witnessing snow, impacting Nevada high country.
Southern California, including Los Angeles and San Diego, currently remains mostly dry, with light drizzle in some areas. Farther east, in Nevada, Las Vegas is maintaining dry and mild conditions. Over in Arizona, Flagstaff is experiencing colder air with snow flurries possible. As we move into Utah, Cedar City is observing a wintry mix of rain and snow with no accumulation,
For this evening in Salt Lake City, temperatures will gradually dip from 46 degrees at 8 PM to 43 degrees by midnight. Showers are expected throughout the evening, accompanied by winds shifting from northwest at 9 miles per hour to west-southwest at 5 miles per hour by midnight.
Tonight in the Southwest, expect a significant drop in temperatures as a chilly air mass settles in. Flagstaff drops to 33. Las Vegas will be cooler than usual with a low of 55 degrees. In Cedar City, anticipate a low of 39 degrees. Meanwhile, Phoenix will experience a more mild night at 59 degrees.
High temperatures in the Southwest for tomorrow are shaping up to be quite warm. In Las Vegas, expect a high of 78 degrees, well above the average for this time of year. Farther west, Los Angeles will reach a comfortable 62 degrees, while San Diego is looking at a high of 65 degrees.
Move inland to Fresno, where temperatures will climb to 67 degrees. In Bakersfield, it’s a bit warmer with a high of 72 degrees.
“Tomorrow, the Southwest will experience a mix of weather conditions. Northern regions of California are expected to see several rounds of valley rain and coastal showers through the day, leading to potentially slippery conditions on the roads. Meanwhile, the desert areas remain dry, showcasing iconic clear skies and abundant sunshine. Keep an eye out for slick roads in the mountainous areas due to recent precipitation. As the week progresses, temperatures will trend cooler, and clear skies should dominate much of the region by the weekend.”

Wednesday: Partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures peaking at 44 degrees and dropping to 30 at night.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy skies with a high of 49 degrees and a nighttime low of 32.
Friday: Partly cloudy, warming to a high of 53 degrees with a low of 33.
