Looking ahead, temperatures throughout the Northeast are set to rise tomorrow before a cold front ushers in cooler temperatures and gusty winds. On the Regional Radar, an extensive line of rain showers stretches from Washington D.C. up through Boston, impacting several major cities such as Philadelphia and New York with substantial rainfall. Scranton is experiencing some of the heaviest rain as the system moves through. Albany and Syracuse are also under rain showers as this moisture-laden front sweeps across the region. The storm system is predominantly rainy, with no signs of snow in the current conditions, and is likely to bring heavy downpours as it advances. Buffalo and Portland are currently outside the main rain bands, experiencing clearer conditions.
New York City this afternoon sees temperatures steady at 60 degrees with a north-northeast wind at 6 mph. Periods of showers are expected, transitioning to light rain by 6 PM. By 8 PM, temperatures shift slightly to 58 degrees, with a few showers continuing as winds ease to 3 mph from the north. Plan for a wet afternoon and keep an umbrella handy.
Today across the Northeast, Philadelphia warms up to 61 degrees. The temperatures dip slightly in Boston, with a high of 54 degrees, and farther north in Portland, it’s much cooler at just 48 degrees. Moving westward, Syracuse only reaches 50 degrees, while Buffalo benefits from a slightly milder day at 58 degrees. Pittsburgh is enjoying the warmth with a high of 62 degrees, making it one of the warmer spots in the region.
Tonight, the Northeast will experience a chill with lows dipping significantly. New York City is expecting a low of 56 degrees, while Philadelphia will be slightly cooler at 54. Scranton is forecasted to drop to 48, with Syracuse not far behind at 44 degrees. Buffalo will also see a low of 44, and in Boston, temperatures will reach down to 51.
Tomorrow, the Northeast will see temperatures well above average as a warm front moves through the region. Pittsburgh will lead the charge with a high of 75 degrees, while the highs for Philadelphia and Washington both reach 74 degrees. New York City follows closely with a high of 73 degrees, and Albany will see temperatures around 66 degrees. Farther north, Syracuse warms up to 67 degrees, while Buffalo sits at 62.
