A stable weather pattern dominates the Northeast this morning, with clear skies spanning much of the region. Expect breezy sunshine from Buffalo to Boston, and down to Philadelphia, conditions are calm and dry. But it’s the last dry day for a bit as shower are anticipated starting tomorrow for the corridor.
Expect mostly cloudy skies this evening in New York City, with temperatures beginning at 62 degrees at 9 PM. Winds will shift from northeast at 4 mph to northeast at 5 mph by 11 PM. By 1 AM, temperatures will slightly dip to 59 degrees, while winds turn east-northeast at 4 mph. The cloud cover will persist, keeping the evening comfortably cool.
Low temperatures tonight take a dip to 45 degrees in Boston and Portland, while New York City falls to 51 degrees. Scranton will see a low of 46, with Syracuse slightly cooler at 46 as well. Pittsburgh remains milder with a low of 53.
Tomorrow, showers start to cool things considerably. In Pittsburgh, expect a high of 66 degrees, while Philadelphia will reach just 57. New York City will see a high of 58, and Boston will only manage 52 degrees. Temperatures in Buffalo and Syracuse will remain cool, hitting 56 and 59 degrees respectively.
The cold front is expected to move across the Northeast tomorrow, bringing scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two. Syracuse and Albany may experience increasing clouds with rain likely by afternoon, while Boston could see showers towards the evening. Temperatures will be cooler, ranging from the upper 60s in New York City to the low 50s in Syracuse by nightfall. The cooling trend will extend across the region, with gusty northwest winds following the front’s passage.
The UV index in New York City is high today, reaching 8, with a burn time of 17 minutes, so remember to apply sunscreen and wear protective clothing if you’re outside. Tomorrow, cloud cover reduces the UV index to 4.
