Philadelphia and Scranton are right in the path of this rainfall, which stretches farther north towards Syracuse. New York City is also getting light showers with this passing system. Boston remains clear for now, but clouds are beginning to gather, indicating rain may arrive later. Albany, similarly, is watching this weather develop but is currently avoiding substantial precipitation. Buffalo is staying dry, tucked away from the main rain band, enjoying a break from the wet weather.
Expect partly cloudy skies this afternoon in New York City. Temperatures will be at 64 degrees by 4 PM, gradually cooling to 61 degrees by 6 PM with winds from the south-southwest at 5 miles per hour. As we move into the evening, it becomes mostly cloudy with temperatures ticking down to 55 degrees by 8 PM.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures across the Northeast. Starting with some notable cities, Pittsburgh is seeing a warm high of 73 degrees, making it the warmest spot in the region. Moving to Philadelphia, we’re looking at a mild high of 68 degrees, while New York City sits at 64 degrees. Upstate in Syracuse, temperatures are slightly cooler at 64 degrees, and both Buffalo and Albany are experiencing highs of 63 and 66 degrees, respectively. Heading towards the coast, Boston matches New York with a high of 64 degrees, but it’s a bit more chilly in Portland, where the temperature tops out at only 55 degrees.
Now for the low temperatures tonight in the Northeast, with Buffalo dropping to 34 degrees. Syracuse will also see a low of 34. Pittsburgh is projected to see 37 degrees. Both New York and Scranton are expected to fall to 37 degrees. Philadelphia is looking at a low of 45, while Boston will be a bit colder at 41. Portland rounds out our major cities with a low of 39 degrees.

Temperatures remain mild, hovering in the mid to upper 60s. As the front crosses, expect a drop in temperatures on Wednesday.
