We’ve got everything from partly sunny skies in New York City to light snow flurries up north. This post delves into hourly temperature changes, expected precipitation, and everything in-between. Light snow flurries are consistently sweeping across the northern parts, especially affecting Syracuse and Buffalo. Farther west, some scattered snow showers are visible, north of Pittsburgh. Major cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Washington are currently dry, offering a reprieve from any significant weather activity. Coastal cities like Boston and Portland remain clear as well, enjoying a refreshing break from overcast conditions. As we glance towards Albany, conditions remain calm.
This afternoon in New York City, temperatures will hover around 57 degrees at 3 PM, gradually cooling to 52 degrees by 7 PM. Expect mostly sunny skies transitioning to partly cloudy conditions by the evening. Winds will initially be from the west-southwest at 9 miles per hour, decreasing to 4 miles per hour from the west-northwest as the evening progresses.
Let’s take a look at the afternoon high temperatures for the Northeast today. Buffalo is feeling quite cool with a high of just 37 degrees. Syracuse is slightly warmer at 43, while Albany reaches 49 degrees. The temperatures rise as we move further south; Scranton will hit 51 degrees, and New York City enjoys a pleasant 58 degrees. Philadelphia is leading the pack, topping out at 61 degrees.
Tonight in the Northeast, we’re looking at some chilly low temperatures as cold air settles in. Buffalo will see a low of 24 degrees, while Syracuse drops down to 28. Scranton is expected to reach 28 as well, and Pittsburgh will cool to 27 degrees. Moving east, Philadelphia is forecasted to hit 33 degrees, with New York City at 34. Boston won’t be much warmer, with an expected low of 33 degrees. Up in Portland, temperatures will plummet to around 30 degrees.
High temperatures in the Northeast region for tomorrow, March 26th, will showcase a variety of readings, with many areas experiencing slightly below-average conditions. New York: Expect a high of 51 degrees. Philadelphia is bit warmer at 52 degrees. Boston will reach for 48 degrees, slightly below what we would usually anticipate. Albany is forecasted to hit 45 degrees. Pittsburgh expects 46 degrees. Syracuse is looking for a cool 40 degrees. In Buffalo the forecast high only reaches 36 degrees.
“Tuesday’s forecast for the Northeast brings notable weather changes. Expect rain to spread from the Mid-Atlantic, affecting areas from Philadelphia to New York City by late afternoon. As precipitation pushes northeast, look for wintry conditions with potential snow across upstate New York and into northern New England by the evening. Temperatures will hover in the low 40s for major cities, making for a chilly day. Though not severe, keep an eye on slick roads, especially farther north where snow accumulates. The system clears out by Wednesday morning, allowing for more mild and dry conditions to return.”
