A line of storms is brushing through western New York, with Syracuse seeing notable precipitation activity. Lighter rain showers are affecting the area around Buffalo. As you head southeast, cloud cover has increased over New York City, signaling potential rain moving its way. The bright spots can be seen over the ocean, indicating ongoing rain likely impacting maritime activities, and showers may push towards the coast. Washington D.C. and Philadelphia remain relatively clear as clouds linger without much rainfall expected today.
New York City kicks off tomorrow morning with partly cloudy skies and a comfortable start. At 8 AM, expect 60 degrees with light westerly winds at 3 miles per hour. By 10 AM, temperatures rise to 64 degrees, with similar wind conditions. As we approach noon, the temperature climbs to 68 degrees, with winds slightly picking up to 4 miles per hour.
High temperatures across the Northeast region tomorrow are trending above average, creating a mild spring day. Philadelphia is set to hit a warm 79 degrees, while New York will reach 73. Scranton expects a comfortable 67 degrees, and further north, Albany will see 63 degrees. Buffalo remains cooler at 56, but many areas will enjoy unseasonably warm weather.
A weak cold front slides into the Northeast tomorrow, bringing scattered showers primarily in upstate New York and into New England by the afternoon. Expect isolated thunderstorms across parts of southern New Hampshire and Maine, which could briefly cause gusty winds but are unlikely to become severe. Temperatures will hover in the mid-70s, with cooler air filtering into the region later in the day. Winds shift from the south to the northwest, ushering in drier conditions by evening. Watch for patchy fog developing overnight as the atmosphere stabilizes.
The UV index in New York City will be high on Wednesday with a value of 8, suggesting a burn time of about 17 minutes in the sun. For Thursday, the index remains high at 7, with a burn time of approximately 20 minutes.
