This system is currently bringing light to moderate rain to areas west of Syracuse and toward Buffalo. The showers are sparse but moving eastward, with Buffalo experiencing the initial rounds of precipitation. Skies remain clear and calm from Albany extending eastward to Boston. The Mid-Atlantic region, including New York City and Philadelphia, enjoys dry and relatively calm conditions.
For this afternoon in New York City, temperatures reach 65 degrees under mostly sunny skies with a southeast breeze at 8 miles per hour. By 6 PM, expect partly cloudy conditions with temperatures dipping to 63 degrees and winds shifting slightly east-southeast at 7 miles per hour. As you head into the evening, temperatures fall to 58 degrees at 8 PM with mostly cloudy skies and a gentle east-southeast breeze at 6 miles per hour.
Afternoon temperatures are warm across the Northeast today. Pittsburgh is leading the way with a high of 82 degrees, while Washington, D.C., matches that at 82 as well. In Philadelphia, expect a pleasant high of 78 degrees. Scranton will see a comfortable 77, contrasting with New York City, where temperatures will peak at 66 degrees. Farther north, Albany reaches 73, and Boston remains cooler at 61. In New England, Portland is only expected to reach 54 degrees, showcasing the cooler coastal influence in the region.
Low temperatures in the Northeast tonight stargint with Buffalo, expected to drop to a cool 46 degrees, while Syracuse will see a low of 49. Boston will experience a mild night at 59 degrees, with similar temperatures in New York City at 63. Scranton will register at 58, and Pittsburgh will close out the night at a comfortable 59 degrees.
High temperatures in the Northeast tomorrow are expected to soar above average. Philadelphia will reach a warm 84 degrees, while Scranton and New York City both are set for highs around 80 degrees. Pittsburgh is also feeling the heat with a high of 76 degrees. Boston will be cooler at 75 degrees, and further north, Syracuse and Burlington are looking at 74 and 57 degrees, respectively.
