The Northeast region is enjoying a predominantly clear morning, with most areas experiencing calm and fair conditions. Currently, the regional radar shows some light rain off the coast, east of Boston, gradually moving out to sea. The cities of New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Pittsburgh are under clear skies with no precipitation expected in the immediate timeframe. Clouds are sparse across Buffalo, Albany, and Syracuse, allowing for plenty of sunshine to start the day across much of the region.
For this evening in New York City, the weather will remain pleasantly calm and clear. Temperatures will decrease from 52 degrees at 7 PM to 48 degrees by 11 PM. It’s an ideal evening for a nighttime stroll or catching up with friends outdoors, without any wind to disrupt the tranquility.
Now for the low temperatures in the Northeast, expect a significant chill as we head into the night. Buffalo will drop to a cool 45 degrees. Syracuse is forecasted to see 46 degrees. In the heart of Pennsylvania, Scranton will also settle at 46. Moving south, Philadelphia will register 44 degrees, while New York City hovers around 45. Boston is notably cooler, with a low of 39 degrees. Portland will see a brisk 35 degrees overnight. Bundle up; it’s a chilly night ahead!
High temperatures for the Northeast region tomorrow are set to be above average due to a warm front moving through. In Pittsburgh, expect a high of 79 degrees, while Scranton will enjoy a warm 71. Philadelphia is forecasted to reach 72 degrees, with New York City slightly cooler at 63 degrees. Farther north, Albany temperatures will hit 71 degrees, and Syracuse is looking at a high of 75. Buffalo also stands out with a pleasant 69 degrees. Meanwhile, the coastal areas will be cooler, with Boston only reaching 53 degrees and Portland at 48. Overall, a significant warm-up across the region will be felt, especially inland areas, as winter gradually gives way to spring warmth.
“A cold front makes its way across the Northeast overnight, bringing a chance for rain showers mainly focused over Syracuse to New York City by Tuesday morning. Expect the heaviest rain to occur along this corridor, possibly leading to slippery conditions for the morning commute. Philadelphia and D.C. will see scattered showers with less intensity. Temperatures will drop a few degrees post-front but remain relatively mild compared to recent cold spells. Conditions improve later in the evening as the system exits the region, paving the way for a drier Wednesday. Stay tuned for any weather advisories, especially if traveling along I-95.”
The UV index in New York City will be moderate today with a value of 4, indicating a burn time of about 35 minutes in direct sunlight. Tomorrow, it rises to 5, with the sun stronger and a faster burn time of approximately 27 minutes. Remember to take necessary sun protection measures, including sunscreen and protective clothing!
