The Regional Radar for the Northeast shows rain sweeping across northern New York state and extending into Vermont and New Hampshire. Syracuse and Albany are experiencing steady rainfall. Meanwhile, Scranton and New York City remain dry under partly cloudy skies. Boston and the surrounding areas are also dry, but Portland could soon see some light rain approaching from the northwest.
This evening in New York City, temperatures will gradually dip from 67 degrees at 9 PM to 62 degrees by 1 AM. Expect partly cloudy skies throughout the evening. Winds will come from the northwest at around 10 to 11 miles per hour.
Tonight in the Northeast, temperatures will dip significantly as we settle into a cooler trend. Boston is expected to drop to 47 degrees, while New York City will be slightly warmer at 52. In Pennsylvania, Philadelphia will see a low of 50, with Scranton sitting at 41. Pittsburgh will also be chilly at 44 degrees. Up in upstate New York, Syracuse will be cooling down to 41 as well.
Tomorrow in the Northeast, New York City will reach 74 degrees, while Philadelphia could see a high of 75. Pittsburgh is looking at a pleasant 69 degrees, and Scranton will top out at 64. Buffalo remains cooler with a high of 59, while Albany is expected to reach 64 degrees.
Anticipate a quiet start to the day tomorrow with overcast skies and increasing chances of rain by the afternoon in parts of the northeast. Rainfall will begin to move in from the north, impacting areas from Albany to Boston. As this system progresses, expect periods of moderate rain with potential for heavier downpours especially in the northern parts of New York and into Vermont and New Hampshire. Temperatures will remain in the mid-60s to low 70s, providing a mild day across the region. Keep an eye out for any localized flooding in urban areas as the rain intensifies into the evening.
