From temperate days in Philadelphia to cooler, rainy conditions in Boston, we’ll cover what to anticipate each day, complete with temperatures and safety tips. Whether you’re planning outdoor activities or commuting, our forecast will help you navigate the week confidently. A beautiful day is ahead for most of the Northeast region. Syracuse, Albany, and Buffalo are under clear skies with no significant weather activity. From Scranton to New York City, conditions remain dry and clear, providing a pleasant day for outdoor activities. Philadelphia and Washington are also enjoying clear skies without precipitation. Portland and Boston have hit or miss light rain showers, but the activity is minimal.
In New York City this afternoon, expect temperatures holding steady at 67 degrees with winds from the north at 4 miles per hour. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, offering intermittent sun breaks. By 8 PM, temperatures cool slightly to 63 degrees with winds shifting to the north-northeast at 5 miles per hour.
Today’s temperatures are on the cool side. York City is expected to reach 68 degrees, while Philadelphia heats up a bit more at 70 degrees. Moving to the north, Scranton experiences a cooler high of 63 degrees, and Syracuse is even chillier at 57 degrees. Pittsburgh sees a pleasant 69 degrees. Boston remains on the cooler side with a high of 58 degrees, and Portland lags behind at 55 degrees.
Tonight Scranton will see a low of 46 degrees, while Pittsburgh dips slightly lower to 53 degrees. Albany is forecasted to cool down to 45 degrees. New York City will remain mild at 51 degrees, but Boston can expect cooler conditions with a low of 47.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures in the Northeast will drop even more as a cool front moves through the region. New York City is limited to just 58 degrees, while Philadelphia will see a high of 57 degrees. Farther north, Boston will only manage 52 degrees, and Albany is set to hit 59 degrees. Pittsburgh will be relatively warmer at 66 degrees. Areas like Scranton and Buffalo will remain cool, with highs around 53 and 56 degrees respectively.
Along with cooler temperatures expect rain as a storm system is set to impact the Northeast tomorrow. Showers begin across Pennsylvania and spread into New York City and Boston by midday. Expect occasional thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon, which may bring heavy downpours and gusty winds. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s to low 70s, providing a mild day despite the showers. Be prepared for wet conditions during the evening commute, with a chance for localized flooding. As the system exits, cool, dry air will move in, setting up a clear day for the Northeast on Thursday.
The UV index in New York City will be high on Tuesday with a level of 8, resulting in a burn time of about 17 minutes in direct sunlight. As for Wednesday, cloud cover and possible rain will reduce the UV index to a moderate 4, with burn time increasing to 35 minutes.
